Doug & Marie Brushell
"I'm just an old rock-n-roller saved by grace," is a statement that Pastor Doug uses to describe himself. After spending several years of playing in, managing and promoting rock-n-roll bands, Pastor Brushell gave his life to the Lord Jesus Christ in the early 80's. Marie received Jesus just a few months before and together they began to serve the Lord.
Their early ministry took them to coffeehouses, relief centers, prisons and churches. "We'd go anyplace they'd open the doors," said Brushell, and the doors kept opening for them. As they grew in the Lord they eventually started their own business of promoting contemporary Christian bands and concerts. The concert ministry lead them into a relationship with Believers' Chapel in Cicero, New York.
After Bible college and 10 years of full-time ministry at Believers' Chapel in Cicero, New York, Doug and Marie Brushell pioneered Believers' Chapel of Canastota in October of 1996. Starting with 25 people at the first meeting, the church has grown to include over 150 in regular attendance.
Pastor Doug and Marie have 3 grown children and 4 awesome grandchildren.
