BELIEVERS’ CHAPEL MISSION, VISION AND VALUES

MISSION (What we’re doing)

VISION (Where we’re going)

IT IS OUR VISION TO BUILD AN EXCELLENT AND EXCITING,
BIBLE-BASED, CHRIST-CENTERED, LOCAL CHURCH…

CORE VALUES (Who we are)
Believers’ Chapel places great value on the following:

  1. WE VALUE THE BIBLE – It is the ultimate source for everything we do.
Hebrews 4:12 “For the word of God is full of living power. It is sharper than the sharpest knife, cutting deep into our innermost thoughts and desires. It exposes us for what we really are.”
  1. WE VALUE PEOPLE – Because God loves and values people.
John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.”
1 John 4:19 “We love, because He first loved us.”
  1. WE VALUE EXPRESSIVE WORSHIP – We love God extravagantly.
Psalm 100:1-2 “Shout for joy to the LORD, all the earth. Worship the LORD with gladness; come before him with joyful songs.”
  1. WE VALUE THE PRESENCE OF GOD – We passionately desire the moving of the Holy Spirit in our personal and corporate life.
Acts 2:17-21 “In the last days, God said, I will pour out my Spirit upon all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, and your old men will dream dreams. In those days I will pour out my Spirit upon all my servants, men and women alike, and they will prophesy. And I will cause wonders in the heavens above and signs on the earth below — blood and fire and clouds of smoke. The sun will be turned into darkness, and the moon will turn blood-red, before that great and glorious day of the Lord arrives. And anyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
  1. WE VALUE PERSONAL AND CORPORATE PRAYER – We are dedicated to being people that talk to God about everything.
Philippians 4:6-7 “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
  1. WE VALUE FAMILY/GENERATIONAL MINISTRY – We embrace the responsibility to impart Biblical vision, values and standards to our children and our children’s children.
Proverbs 22:6 “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.”
Ephesians 2:19 “Now you are no longer strangers to God and foreigners to heaven, but you are members of God's very own family, citizens of God's country, and you belong in God's household with every other Christian.”
  1. WE VALUE THE LOCAL CHURCH AND UNITY – The local church is God's instrument to extend His purposes in the earth today. We believe there is one Church, lead by Jesus, which meets in a lot of different places.
Psalm 92:13 “The righteous man will flourish like the palm tree, He will grow like a cedar in Lebanon. Planted in the house of the LORD, They will flourish in the courts of our God.”
  1. WE VALUE PERSONAL HOLINESS – Action speaks louder than words; therefore, Christians are called to be living examples of godliness in our society.
2 Corinthians 7:1 “Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all defilement of flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.”
  1. WE VALUE SERVANT LEADERSHIP – Good leaders serve others first.
Luke 22:25-27 “Jesus told them, "In this world the kings and great men order their people around, and yet they are called 'friends of the people.' But among you, those who are the greatest should take the lowest rank, and the leader should be like a servant.”
  1. WE VALUE THE GOSPEL – We are on a mission to tell everyone, everywhere about the amazing love of Jesus Christ.
Mark 16:15-16 “And He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. He who has believed and has been baptized shall be saved; but he who has disbelieved shall be condemned.”
  1. WE VALUE DISCIPLESHIP AND MENTORING – We are commissioned by God to help people become fully devoted followers of Christ.
Matthew 28:18-20 “And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.” Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
  1. WE VALUE POSITIVE STEWARDSHIP – we are committed to taking good care of everything God has given us.
Matthew 25:20-21 “The servant to whom he had entrusted the five bags of gold said, 'Sir, you gave me five bags of gold to invest, and I have doubled the amount.' The master was full of praise. 'Well done, my good and faithful servant. You have been faithful in handling this small amount, so now I will give you many more responsibilities. Let's celebrate together!'”
  1. WE VALUE INTEGRITY AND CHARACTER – We believe integrity is more important than convenience and character is more important than charisma.
Proverbs 20:7 “The godly walk with integrity; blessed are their children after them.”
Psalm 15:1-2; 4 “O LORD, who may abide in Thy tent? Who may dwell on Thy holy hill? He who walks with integrity, and works righteousness, and speaks truth in his heart. He swears to his own hurt, and does not change…”

STATEMENT OF FAITH

What We Believe

1. About God

God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He has eternally existed in three personalities: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and are one God.

Genesis 1:1, 26, 27, 3:22; Psalm 90:2; Matthew 28:19; 1 Peter 1:2; 2 Corinthians.13:14

2. About Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is co-equal with the Father. Jesus lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on a cross. He arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to Heaven’s glory and will return again someday to earth to reign as King of Kings, and Lord of Lords.

Matthew1:22, 23; Isaiah 9:6; John 1:1-5; 14:10-30; Hebrews 4:14, 15;
1 Corinthians.15:3, 4; Romans1:3, 4; Acts 1:9-11; 1 Timothy 6:14, 15; Titus 2:13

3. About the Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is co-equal with the Father and the Son of God. He is present in the world to make men aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He also lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. He gives every believer the access to spiritual gifts when they are saved. As Christians, we seek to live under His control daily.

2 Corinthians 3:17; John 16:7-13, 14:16, 17; Acts 1:8;
1 Corinthians 2:12, 3:16; Ephesians 1:13; Galatians 5:25; Ephesians 5:18

4. About the Bible

The Bible is God’s Word to us. It was written by human authors, under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living. Because it is inspired by God, it is the truth without any mixture of error.

2 Timothy3:16; 2 Peter 1:20, 21; 2 Timothy 1:13;
Psalm 119:105,160, 12:6; Proverbs 30:5

5. About Human Beings

People are made in the spiritual image of God, to be like Him in character. People are the supreme object of God’s creation. Although every person has tremendous potential for good, all of us are marred by an attitude of disobedience toward God called “sin”. This attitude separates people from God and causes many problems in life.

Genesis 1:27; Psalm 8:3-6; Isaiah 53:6a; Romans 3:23; Isaiah 59:1, 2

6. About Salvation

Salvation is God’s free gift to us but we must accept it. We can never make up for our sin by self-improvement or good works. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God’s offer of forgiveness can anyone be saved from sin’s penalty. When we turn from our self-ruled life and turn to Jesus in faith we are saved. Eternal life begins the moment one receives Jesus Christ into his or her life by faith.

Romans 6:23; Ephesians 2:8, 9; John 14:6, 1:12; Titus 3:5;
Galatians 3:26; Romans 5:1

7. About Eternity

People were created to exist forever. We will either exist eternally separated from God by sin, or eternally with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is Hell. To be eternally in union with Him is eternal life. Heaven and Hell are real places of eternal existence.

John 3:16; John 14:17; Romans 6:23; Romans 8:17-18;
Revelation 20:15; 1 Corinthians 2:7-9

8. About the Gifts of the Spirit

We believe that the gifts of the Holy Spirit – word of wisdom, word of knowledge, faith, gifts of healing, miracles, prophecy, distinguishing of spirits, tongues and interpretation of tongues – are for today and are in operation for the edification of the Church.

I Corinthians 12; I Corinthians 14:26; I Peter 4:10; Romans 12:4-8; Ephesians 4:11
