Re: Church Reopening Guidelines

Hello Church Family;

It is the opinion of your Pastors and leaders to plan on a soft reopening of in person church services beginning Sunday June 21st at 10 am. For now, our services will have certain protocols we will follow for all involved that have been set by the CDC. These protocols are in agreement with our Federal and State leader’s directions for public gatherings, to ensure the safety and security of all concerned.

Please note: this reopening is necessary for us, but is not required! If you, for any reason, feel you are not ready to gather in public, then please stay at home and watch us on Facebook Live! Our only advice:  don’t let fear rule your choice and please exercise good common sense. Of course, if you have any symptoms of sickness, please get your rest, stay home and take care of yourself! We have to start somewhere to get back to meeting in person; so here we are!

Here are our guidelines for reopening church:

  1. For now face masks will be required for everyone in attendance. Please bring your own mask! The worship team can perform worship without one and the pastor can be without one when bringing the word. We plan on having some disposable masks available if any one forgets their mask. They will be disposed of into a designated waste basket when you exit the building. Hand sanitizer will be at the entrances and we will ask everyone to use it upon entering. Hand sanitizer will be available in the sanctuary as well. There will be sign in sheets at each door for everyone to use as they enter the building.

  2. Social distancing of 6 feet will be practiced as much as possible while at church. We will have some signage placed as a reminder in and around the church. We have been practicing this in all our grocery stores and retail stores now for 9-10 weeks. We can easily continue that practice for a time at church. Sorry!  No church hugs!! Therefore, we cannot congregate in the halls or at the doorways. This will be difficult but for a few more weeks this is necessary. We ask everyone to keep their coats with them; take them to their seats and to follow our usher’s directions for proper seating using social distancing guidelines.  Dismissal after the service should be done in an orderly fashion by families…While exiting the building please respect the social distancing guidelines.

  3. Sanctuary doors will be propped open at the beginning and the end of service to cut down on surface exposure. As the Spirit allows, pre-service prayer will be offered up just before the 10 am start.

  4. Pastor Jake will take the parking lot ministry and greet folks for the first few services reminding them of the importance of using face masks and following our protocols…Our greeters will handle the front doors and greet people. We will not provide bulletins to start. We will post our announcements up on the overhead. All tithe and offering envelopes will be dropped in a basket on the table in the sanctuary before or after service, or you can easily give electronically on our safe web site!

  5. The sanctuary seating will be set up to accommodate social distancing guidelines. All chair frames will be cleaned before use. Families can sit together of course. Ushers will assist in the seating to ensure social distancing of at least 3 chairs separating families (6 feet approximately).

  6. There will be no children’s church for now and Fusion will continue to meet virtually.

  7. There will be no hospitality after the service for now.

  8. Bathrooms will have sanitation wipes that can be used for all fixtures and door knobs after use.

  9. Thursday night Action night & prayer will meet at church starting June 4th and the word at 7 pm will be on Facebook live. Our plan is to still offer prayer on zoom to include as many folks as are willing after the Word.

  10. Each area’s surfaces including doors and bathrooms & sanctuary the chairs will be cleaned after the services to ensure cleanliness. A cleaning log will be posted in the info center for each area cleaned: Bathrooms, Sanctuary and Hallway.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask! This is all uncharted territory and no one has all the answers but we know the One who does and we will follow Him. Thank you Jesus and thanks to all for your patience in this and following the guidelines!

In Jesus;
